PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock's baseball program will celebrate its history on Saturday when the Golden Falcons have three alumni games at the Aycock diamond.

Organizer Tim Lancaster said nearly 70 former players have indicated that they will play in the games, which start at 2 p.m. the other games are set for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The first two games will feature players from the 1990s taking on players from the 1980s and players from the 1970s meeting players from the 1960s. The final game will feature the 1974 state championship team.

In addition, the number of former Aycock player and 1974 team pitcher Parker Davis will be retired.

Lancaster said a photo is planned with all the alumni players on the field, and event former players that do not wish to play should attend to be in what Lancaster calls a historic photograph.

"This is not an invitation thing," said Lancaster. "Anyone that wants to come out is welcome."

Any child under the age of 12 who wears a jersey and hat to the game and is accompanied by a coach or parent will get in free.

Lancaster has asked that players who plan to attend contact him as soon as possible to ensure a T-shirt is ordered for them.

For questions call Lancaster at 242-5810 or Jane Thomas at 242-4380.
