Tennis -- Rams complete perfect regular-season

LITTLEFIELD -- Greene Central put the finishing touches on its second unbeaten regular season in the last three years with a 9-0 decision against Ayden-Grifton in Carolina/Eastern Plains 1-A/2-A Conference play Thursday afternoon.
The Rams improved to 21-0 with 16 shutouts against C/EPC opposition. Their regular-season record over the past three years is 59-1 with the only loss coming against Big Eight North 3-A member Southern Nash.
Andrew Hulbert, Brent Darden, Lin Hall and Dustin Grant each posted a shutout win in singles. Fourth-seeded Chris Hardy lost one game, while sixth-seeded Brian Sugg lost two.
The Rams lost two games in three doubles matches combined.
Greene Central blanked Farmville Central 9-0 on Wednesday.
Hulbert, Darden, Hall, Hardy, Grant and Sugg each collected a singles win.
All nine teams return to action next Monday and Tuesday in the season-ending C/EPC tournament at the Snow Hill Tennis Complex. First-round play begins Monday at 3:05 p.m.
