WASHINGTON -- Southern Wayne dipped under the .500 mark (4-5) in Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference play after a 3-1 loss to Washington on Thursday.
Dominique Williams, Danielle Wilkins, Haley Fail and Rachel Reynolds each had one hit for the visiting Saints.
Karen Thornton threw a complete game, but suffered the pitching loss.
Southern Wayne (6-10) entertains unbeaten Charles B. Aycock today.
