Tennis -- WCDS avenges loss to Faith-RM

ROCKY MOUNT -- Wayne Country Day captured two of three doubles matches and upended Faith Christian of Rocky Mount 5-4 in a Class 1-A Coastal Plains Independent Conference match Tuesday afternoon.
The Chargers avenged an earlier loss to the Patriots.
David Wilson and Chad Roberson, the No. 2 doubles, kept the overall score tight with an 8-5 decision against Faith Christian's Andrew Figlewski-Andrew Langley. Fellow Chargers Byron Bryan-George Mayo, the No. 3 doubles, recorded the same score against Andrew Cunningham-Elliot Overman.
Wayne Country Day (3-3) earned its first CPIC win of the season in four tries.
Ross Wilson, Alex Proimos and Mayo each claimed a straight-set win in doubles.
The Chargers travel to Kerr-Vance on Thursday.
