WILSON -- Candace Evans flirted with a no-hitter for four innings and ended up yielding two hits overall as state-ranked North Johnston dumped Wilson Hunt 12-5 in a non-conference game Tuesday afternoon.

Janna Rogerson paced the Panthers' offense with three hits.

Amanda Pope, Brandy Edwards, Hannah Ellis, Ashley Tart and Ashley Woodall each provided two hits. Woodall, who has signed with Pitt Community College, tripled.

Robyn Creech delivered a two-RBI double in the fourth.

North Johnston, ranked No. 3 in the latest ihigh.com/coaches and media 1-A poll, improved to 15-1 overall. The Panthers put their perfect 6-0 Carolina Conference record on the line at home Friday against North Duplin.
