SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek's Michael Sigmon had a two-RBI triple and yielded two runs in five innings of work to pace the Gators in an 8-2 win over North Duplin at home on Tuesday.

Jes Snyder went three-for-three with a triple, double and three RBI.

The Gators (10-9) improved to 4-3 in the Class 1-A Carolina Conference, heading into an April 27 game at Rosewood.

Sigmon struck out six against one walk and gave up four hits. Blake Thompson and Snyder tossed one inning of shutout work each in relief.

North Duplin (3-12, 0-7 ECC) got one hit each from Phillip Lampron and Tim Evans. Lampron drove in a run.

Matt Braswell took the loss in 32Ú3 innings of work as only four of his eight runs allowed were earned.

"Our pitching this year has been good enough to win ballgames. It's hard not to feel for Matt Braswell, Brad Lloyd, and Sterling Grice," North Duplin coach Rob Futch said. "They all pitch well and give us a chance to win, and we just can't make the plays."

The Rebels travel to North Johnston on Friday.
