JV baseball -- Sasser, Davis pace SW

Wade Sasser and Joseph Davis combined for three extra-base hits in Southern Wayne's 11-7 triumph against county archrival Eastern Wayne on Tuesday.

Sasser concluded the day 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. Davis doubled in a 2-for-4, two-RBI effort as the Saints improved to 5-1 in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play.

Justin Williams claimed the pitching win, striking out six and allowing seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits. Davis provided two innings of three-strikeout, one-hit relief.

Joey Moey led the Warriors with three hits, including a double.

Chad Sutton endured the pitching loss.

Southern Wayne entertains D.H. Conley this afternoon.
