Baseball -- Spring Creek upends Ayden-Grifton

LITTLEFIELD -- Josh Lewis ripped a two-RBI hit to right center field as Spring Creek rallied past Ayden-Grifton 3-1 in an eight-inning, Class 1-A Carolina Conference thriller Tuesday afternoon.
With two outs and the score tied at 1-1, the Gators' Daniel Thompson executed a perfect drag bunt. Jes Snyder followed with a ground-rule double to left center.
Michael Sigmon drew a walk to load the bases and set the table for Lewis, who picked up his lone hit of the day in three at-bats.
Spring Creek reliever Jes Snyder shut down the Chargers in the eighth and picked up the win. Lewis surrendered three hits and collected five strikeouts in a six-inning stint.
The teams were scoreless through six innings.
Randy Amos gave the Gators (7-6) a 1-0 lead with a two-strike RBI single in the seventh.
Ayden-Grifton answered with a two-out RBI hit in its half of the seventh.
