MOREHEAD CITY -- Charles B. Aycock's April Vick knocked in three runs and paced four different Falcons with at least an RBI, while Jenny Jackson struck out 12 and yielded just one hit in six innings in the Golden Falcons' 9-2 victory at West Carteret.
The Patriots reached on a single in the sixth to break up Jackson's bid for a perfect game. Brittani Edgerton came on to close out the game in the seventh in her second appearance on the mound this season.
Jackson (8-0) had no walks as Aycock improved to 4-0 in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference.
Kandace Burroughs and Jackson drove in runs with doubles as Kaitlyn Thomas had two RBI on sacrifices. Meredith Wilkerson added two hits and two steals.
Aycock takes on South Central on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a key ECC match-up.
