Baseball -- S. Central tops Cougars

Goldsboro freshman Cedric McClary had one hit as the Cougars fell 19-0 at home to South Central on Tuesday.
Ryan Benner picked up the win for the Falcons, yielding one hit and striking out seven.
Billy Hopkins paced South Central at the plate with three hits.
Goldsboro (0-7, 0-4 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference) got solid defensive plays from Eric McLean, Eugene Norman and Dante Love.
The Cougars make the short trip to Eastern Wayne on Friday.
