Softball -- Rosewood shuts out Dixon

HOLLY RIDGE -- Rosewood's Aubrey Reinhard, Abigail Barrow and Chandra Meadows combined in a shutout effort as the Lady Eagles blanked Dixon 3-0 in non-conference action on Thursday on the road.
Reinhard, who picked up the win, and Meadows struck out three batters each, while Barrow tossed a perfect fourth-inning.
Jennifer Boren had two hits and drove in two runs to lead the Eagles at the plate, while Courtney Hill and Summer Turnage both tripled. Shanna Gooding drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
The Eagles (2-4) travel to face Ayden-Grifton in Class 1-A Carolina Conference action today.
