Eastern Wayne freshman Samantha Frazer tallied a natural hat-trick (three-straight goals) in the first 16 minutes of play to boost the Warriors to a 5-0 win at home over South Central on Monday.

Fellow freshman Natalie Taylor added two assists for Eastern Wayne (1-2, 1-0 Eastern Carolina 3-A), who jumped out to a solid start in their conference opener against the visiting Falcons (0-2, 0-1)

Warrior coach Jorg Wagner was impressed with the underclassmen's effort.

"Both (Frazer and Taylor) are very fast and have a fair amount of skill on the ball," he said. "Once they adjust fully to the high school game, opposing defenses will have difficulty to contain them. Tonight, they played together very well."

Helen Baddour and Jessica Pate added one goal each to close out the scoring for the Warriors, who outshot South Central 26-2.

Wagner praised Sarah Bacon, Katy Biehl and Tija Riley for solid defensive play in the shutout effort.

Eastern Wayne continues conference play on Wednesday at Kinston.
