GAFFNEY, S.C. -- The Limestone College baseball team (12-12, 3-6 CVAC) defeated the CVAC's second ranked team on Sunday. In the series finale, the Saints prevailed 5-3 over Mount Olive College (22-7, 8-4).

The Trojans got on the board first with Steve Parrish's 12th home run of the year -- a solo shot. They would add an unearned run in the third when T.J. Fly reached on a Limestone error and scored on a Craig Hurba single.

The pitcher's duel continued into the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth, Limestone finally got to Mount Olive starter Weston Curles. With one out, Matt Craig reached on an error, Darius Pullen walked, and Mitch House drilled his sixth home run of the season to put the Saints on top.

Limestone added a run in the seventh on a David Wise solo shot. Mount Olive put their final run on the board in the eighth with a Hurba sacrifice fly. Limestone answered in the bottom of the frame with a Richmond Lutz RBI single.

Devin Page (3-1) got the win. Page allowed just two earned runs in 7 2/3 innings of work on four hits and two walks while striking out five. Josh Cochrane worked 1 1/3 innings to get the save.

Mount Olive returns to action on Tuesday to begin a two-game set against North Florida at Scarborough Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
