PIKEVILLE -- Jenny Jackson struck out 14 as Charles B. Aycock beat Greene Central 6-1 on Friday afternoon.
Jackson gave up six hits in the complete-game victory, but coach David West wanted to see more intensity from his team.
"We seemed to be a little bit flat at times," West said. "I'm looking forward to seeing us play with a little more intensity and emotion. Defensively, we need to pick it up a notch or two because conference starts on Tuesday."
Jackson and Chrissy Setleff both had doubles for Aycock, while Meredith Wilkerson drove in a pair of runs.
Greene Central scored their run in the fourth inning as Elizabeth Cooper tripled and scored on an error.
Brittany Leggett took the loss for the Rams (1-2), who meet Spring Creek on Wednesday in Seven Springs.
The Falcons (3-0) take on Southern Wayne on Tuesday night in Pikeville.
