Track -- Baker wins two as Warriors top New Bern

Hurdle specialist Shelley Baker claimed first in the 100 high and 300 low events and finished third in the shot put as Eastern Wayne's 75-70, non-conference victory Thursday afternoon against New Bern.
Baker ran the 100 hurdles in 18.9 and covered the 300 distance in 55.03. She recorded a mark of 27 feet, eight inches in the shot and ran one leg on the winning 800-meter relay.
Long-distance runner Jamie Vogt prevailed in the 600 (6:04) and 3,200 (13:20).
Erin Acree claimed the pole vault and Alexandra Randolph won the 200.
Eastern Wayne (1-1) travels to New Bern next Monday afternoon.
