Wayne Christian boys 44, Cape Fear Christian 26 -- Eric Williams earned his second triple-double -- 15 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists -- of the season; and fourth of his career. Ethan Ipock added seven points and eight rebounds. Jimmie Foss, Hayden Gardner and Shea Glaesman each chipped in six points and four rebounds. Wayne Christian (10-3) plays host to Carter Christian at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Goldsboro girls 30, Dillard 28 -- Feon James led the Cougars with 12 points and seven rebounds. Teammate Eboni Reid contributed 11 points and three rebounds. Danielle Irby emerged Dillard's top scorer with a game-high 15 points. Goldsboro (5-8) improved to 5-4 against Wayne County Middle School Athletic Conference Division II competition. The Cougars conclude the regular season Monday against Eastern Wayne at the Goldsboro High School gym. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Brogden girls 43, Norwayne 22 -- Brittanni Billups collected a double-double -- 14 points and 12 rebounds -- as Brogden remained unbeaten in 13 outings. Brianna Lofton chipped in nine points and eight assists, while Shaterra Neely provided eight points and seven steals. Artice Felder led the Cobras with eight points. Brogden (7-0 WCMSAC Division I) concludes the regular season next Monday at Rosewood.
Grantham girls 35, Mount Olive 33 -- Shakoria Clark led Grantham's attaack with 11 points. Meredith Davis contributed seven points and eight rebounds. Alisa Bradshaw finished with seven points as the Bulldogs climbed to 7-6 overall and 6-1 in WCMSAC Division II play. Grantham finishes the regular season next Monday at Dillard.
Greenwood girls 40, Eastern Wayne 29 -- Chantel Gains earned a double-double (17 points, 13 rebounds) and Chelsie Lopes tallied 15 points and nine rebounds for the T-Birds. Greenwood finished second in WCMSAC Division I play.
Goldsboro boys 69, Dillard 62 -- Joseph Houpe turned in a double-double (24 points, 12 rebounds) and Anthony Artis scored 16 for the Cougars. Goldsboro improved to 12-1 overall.
