James Hugh Draughon Jr., better known as J.H., passed away just moments past midnight the morning of June 21, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mr. Draughon, a longtime Mount Olive resident, had been in the used car business.
He worshipped at Grace Community Church in Goldsboro.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Bass Draughon; a son, Dr. T. Scott Draughon and wife, Tracy, of Wilmington; two daughters, Susan D. Whitaker and husband, Doug, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jill D. Rosen and husband, Louis, of Wilmington; twin sisters, Dorothea D. Evans and Dorothy D. Sykes both of Mount Olive; and six beloved grandchildren, Caroline Cross and husband, Taylor, Natalie Whitaker, Alexandra Kilkenny Draughon, Anne Scott Draughon, Zachary Draughon Rosen and Zeniphen Draughon Rosen.
His parents, James H. Draughon and Teva Autry Draughon, preceded him in death.
Mr. Draughon’s life will be remembered in a service at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and will be officiated by pastor David Karns and Mr. Michael Odom.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 11:45 a.m.
Interment will be at Wayne Memorial Park on Monday, June 25, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorial gifts be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
