Robert Edward Artis, 72, of 1809 East Azalea Drive, peacefully succumbed to the Lord's call Saturday at Wayne UNC Health Care.
He was born to the late James and Queenie Edmundson Artis on Thursday, Aug. 30, 1945, in Wayne County.
The Celebration of his Life and Legacy will be held Friday at noon, at the Word of Truth Christian Fellowship, with his son, Apostle Michael Artis, officiating. His mortal remains will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Precious memories are held dear by his wife, Rosa Reid Artis, of the home; two sons, Apostle Michael Artis and Kenneth Lamont Artis, both of Goldsboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Edwards will lie in repose at the church Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with his loving family present to receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The family will assemble at residence in preparation for the funeral cortege.
