Lawrence Ray Cox, 71, of 106 Woods Mill Road, died Tuesday at the home.
The funeral service will be Friday at noon at the Bear Creek Association headquarters, with the Rev. Leslie Capers officiating. Burial will take place in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with the National Guard rendering military honors.
Viewing will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Apostle D.L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Summers Cox; along with his father, Robert Lee Cox Sr.; and two brothers, Robert Lee Cox Jr. and Donald (Pauline) Cox.
He is survived by his mother, Annie Mae Cox; four children, Kimolin (Allen) Pete, Stevie (Linda) Cox, Lawrence (Judy) Cox and Sharonda (Leon) Whitfield; 10 siblings, Annie Lee Dawson, Ronald (Faye) Cox, Kenneth (Willie Mae) Cox, Linwood Cox, James Cox, Lonice (Edwin) Holland, John (Lisa) Cox, Eddie Cox, Teddie Cox and Freddie Cox; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
