Linwood Earl Best, 69, passed away Monday at Wayne UNC Health Care of Goldsboro.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Raymond Best Sr. and Mollissie Baker Best.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Buckrham Best.
Linwood was retired from O'Berry Center with 30 years of service in the therapeutic recreation center.
He was a member of Thompson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where he served on the deacon board and usher board and as the church treasurer.
A homegoing service will be held Saturday, March 17, at noon at Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Headquarters, 1800 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, with pastor Jacob Pickett officiating. He will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 U.S. 117, Dudley, N.C.
Visitation will be Friday, March 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 2393 N. Beston Road, LaGrange, N.C.
Linwood is survived by his daughter, KeSha Johnson; sons, Khiry Best, KeShon Johnson and Zerrick Johnson; and two brothers, Otis Best and Larry Best.
Arrangements are by J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
