Jannie Elizabeth "Duke" Wooten, 85, 5622 Sage Hill Drive, Charlotte, died Friday at home.
Funeral will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Garris Funeral Home chapel, with minister Levester Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Carver Cemetery.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Annie Eliza Swinson Smith.
Five daughters survive.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 tonight.
