Jerry Kent Dunn, 77, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Vidant Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro with military honors.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
Mr. Dunn was born in Lenoir County Dec. 27, 1940, to the late Paul Dunn and Pearl Barnett Dunn.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Faulkner Dunn; two sons, Mitchell Bennett Dunn (Ester) of West Virginia and Jody Kent Dunn of Florida; five daughters, Cindy Marie Goodman (Reggie) of Deep Run, Cathy Ann Fuller of Florida, Donna Carol Sperry (Donni) of New York, Tammy Ann Britt (MccKines) of Goldsboro and Carmen Lee McKenna (Wayne) of Goldsboro; his sister, Hazel Allen (Rufus) of Kinston; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lee Dunn; four brothers; and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Vidant Medical Heart Center.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
