STACEY H. CHASE

Aug. 2, 1967-Oct. 29, 2017

Mr. Stacey Howard Chase, 50, Snow Hill, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, Oct. 29, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born Aug. 3, 1967, the son of Howard L. and Helen Smith Chase.

Following graduation from Greene Central High School, Stacey completed his associate degree at Wayne Community College.

A godly man, he was devoted to his family, church, community and friends.

Stacey had a servant's heart, always putting others first and serving in any capacity; the word "no" was not in his vocabulary.

For many years, he served on the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Department, and as a skilled craftsman, he frequently used his God-given talents to help others.

Stacey cherished time spent with his family and friends, and always chose to focus on the positive in everyone and everything. The beauty of God's creation was visible to him gazing upon the sunset at Emerald Isle, where he spent many weekends with his family; his retirement plan was to reside there and consume his time doting on his forthcoming grandchildren, one of whom is due in December and the other in 2018.

Left to cherish Stacey's memory are his wife of 31 years, Misty Lang Chase; mother, Helen Smith Chase; son, Austin Tyler Chase and wife, Caroline; daughter, Ashleigh Chase Lancaster and husband, Fuzzy; and sister, Tracy Lynn Chase all of Snow Hill.

Additional survivors include his parents-in-law, Jamie E. "Ham" and Linda M. Lang; brother-in-law, Jamie E. Lang III and wife, Melissa; and nieces, Kelli Chase Revels, Emma Rose Chase, Georgia Lang, Sadie Lang and Eliza Lang.

A service of remembrance will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 145 Free Gospel Road, Snow Hill, with pastor Mike Parks and the Rev. Cliff Harvell officiating. Committal services will take place 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at Snow Hill Cemetery, with the rendering of fire department honors.

The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and also immediately following the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence.

Since its establishment, Stacey was an apostle of Greene County Renewal, always working behind the scenes making sure everything was prepared and ran smoothly. The Greene County Renewal's mission was to bring unity to Greene County and glory to God, both being things Stacey was very passionate about.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in Stacey's memory to Greene County Renewal, c/o Becky Sutton, 665 Burrellfield Road, Snow Hill, N.C., 28580.
