ROBERT CARLTON BRASWELL

Robert Carlton "Bob" Braswell, 78, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Bob was born in Johnston County April 22, 1939, to the late Dr. Robert Braswell and Inez Grace Pittman Braswell. He was married for 41 years to the late Betty Hadden Braswell.
Bob had retired from Carolina Power and Light Co., and later returned to do some consulting work with Progress Energy.
He had also served with the Goldsboro Police Department in the early 1960s.
Bob was a charter member of Northview Baptist Church, where he served as an elder, and was a dedicated and faithful servant his entire life.
He was also a man of many talents, from being an accomplished guitarist, passionate about golfing and a builder of model boats and ships.
Bob had also taught guitar lessons at Frederick Music, and had played in some area bands from 1950 to 1970.
He was a member of Wayne Masonic Lodge No. 112 A.F. and A.M.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 15, 2017, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Bob's life at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Entombment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Barry Patton of Goldsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Gloria Braswell of Wallace; grandchildren, Kari Motluck, Kyle Woodard, Matthew Patton, Trey Braswell, Taylor Braswell, Jacob Braswell and Mary Hadden Braswell; great-grandchildren, Natalie Motluck, Blair Motluck, Cooper Motluck and Jack Braswell; brother, Charles Braswell; and sister, LaRue Thornton.
He is also survived by a special friend, Susan Ayers.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Braswell and Linda Daughtry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Bob's memory to Northview Baptist Church, 600 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
