NORA ANN SMITH EDMUNDSON

Nora Ann Smith Edmundson, 85, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord Monday, May 15, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Nora Ann was born in Wayne County Oct. 16, 1931, to the late John G. Smith and Nora Gurley Smith.
Her life was filled with humility, kindness and a love for others that she displayed every time she smiled. She dedicated her life to serving her family unselfishly and to serving her Lord.
Nora Ann was a member of Woods Grove Church for nearly seven decades, where she served in the Ladies Auxiliary, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for more than 40 years. She was always on call to give an encouraging word or helping hand, as she and her husband assisted with the television ministry Message of New Beginnings.
She enjoyed life, especially her children and grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Nora Ann's life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in the sanctuary of Wood's Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Barry Teague officiating.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church and other times at her home.
Interment will be Thursday, May 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Nora Ann is survived by her husband of 67 years, Carlton R. Edmundson; son, Dean Edmundson and wife, Carolyn; daughter, Jan Butts and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Justin Butts and wife, Jessica, Brett Butts and Taylor Edmundson; and sisters, Esther Casey and Vernell Quinn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James E. "Shine" Smith, Joe William Smith, Robert Smith, Rex Smith and John G. Smith Jr., and sisters, Laulas Newsome, Sarah Emma Davis, Mabel Coker and Ava Faircloth.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be given in her memory to Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 4009 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
