DORIS O. HARRISON

Mrs. Doris Outlaw Harrison, 85, LaGrange, died Saturday evening, May 13, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center following a period of declining health.
A native of Lenoir County, she was born Jan. 4, 1932, the daughter of Joe and Mollie Stroud Outlaw.
Following her retirement as a secretary, she joined her husband in operating Carson's Auction and was an always present fixture during auctions. She took great pride in her yard and growing flowers until her health began to decline. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Daly's Chapel FWB Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Lee; and siblings, Iris Mozingo, Lille Rae Hill, Kathleen McDaniel, Ann Honeycutt and Joseph Outlaw.
Her surviving family includes her husband of 40 years, Carson Delano Harrison of the home; daughters, Dean Lee Sutton of Winterville and Jean Lee Johnson of Kinston; stepchildren, Carson D. "Dee" Harrison Jr., of LaGrange, Robert Mark Harrison of Wilmington, and Karen Harrison Truckenbrod of Mount Olive; sisters, Bessie Weeks of Seven Springs, Bonnie Carter of Kinston, Arlene Baker of Moss Hill, and Rachel Spann of Kinston. Additionally, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren also survive her.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, with the Rev. Edward Thornton officiating. Committal services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, in the Snow Hill Cemetery.
