Benjamin Ray Pitt, 69, Pikeville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at his home.
Homegoing services will be held Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Pitt was born in Wayne County Sept. 4, 1947, to the late Benjamin and Marie Armwood Pitt.
He was a member of Elm Grove Church in Pikeville.
Mr. Pitt was also a member of Big James Barrett and the Golden Jubilees.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Priscilla Pitt; one son, Ray Pitt of Raleigh; one stepson, Chesley James of Fayetteville; one stepdaughter, Geneva James of Greenville; one brother, Nevaro Pitt and wife, Tory, of Boston; four sisters, Linda Reid of Pikeville, Tonya Forte´ and husband, John, of Kentucky, Tammy Croom of Pikeville and Barbara Mincey and husband, Harold of Wilson; a sister-in-law, Paula Spann; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Stallings and Jimmy Parks.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pitt was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Lewis Pitt; one brother, Jerry Pitt; two sisters, Sharon Diane Stallings and Norma Lois Parks; and a brother-in-law, Jack Reid.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
