Russell James Miller, Goldsboro, died Thursday at his home.
He was born in Detroit, Mich., to the late Russell G. and Annie Long Miller.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 U.S. 70 West. Dr. John R. Shore will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the service and at other times, at the residence, 107 Perry Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Judy D. Miller; daughter, Kelly M. Dilday (John) of Clayton; son-in Law, Patrick Higgins of Pikeville; brothers, Timothy Miller of Irons, Mich., David Miller (Darlene) of Livonia, Mich., and Daniel Miller (Myong) of Indian River, Mich.; grandchildren, Shawn and Sarah Higgins of Pikeville and Kori, Kaci and Kati Dilday all of Clayton; three nieces; and two nephews
Russell was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelly M. Higgins.
He was retired from the United States Air Force, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
The family requests memorials be made to Rosewood Volunteer Fire Department/Wayne County EMS Station No. 2, 884 Rosewood Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
