CAROL WEIL MORRIS

Aug. 28,1944-July 18, 2016

On the evening of July 14, 2016, Carol passed away peacefully at her home in Raleigh, N.C., with her loving family beside her.

Carol was born in Goldsboro, N.C., Aug. 28, 1944.

She was the third child and second daughter of Mabel Lynn Weil and Abram Weil of Goldsboro, N.C.

Her brother was Alan Weil, and her sister was Linda Weil.

She attended high school at Salem Academy in Salem, N.C., and then studied and graduated in English literature at Boston University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Carol was a loving mother, who sacrificed a lot for her children, and taught them many priceless lessons along the way. She was a caring and intelligent woman, who had a special place in her heart for civil rights and the humane treatment of animals, and fought for those causes throughout her life as an activist and philanthropist.

Carol will be missed dearly by our family, and we are thankful for all the memories and laughs we shared.

Carol is survived by her son, Stephen Weil Morris; her daughter, Laura Elisabeth Morris; and her grandsons, Alex Diego Hernandez Morris and Jacob Elisio Hernandez.

For any friends or family wishing to pay respects, a graveside service will be held at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro Wednesday, July 20, at 10 a.m.

Condolences to the family may be sent to poolefuneral.com under obituaries.
