EARL WALTERS
June 20, 1922-April 18, 2016
Adam Earl Walters, 93, Rosewood community, was called home early Monday morning to the loving arms of Jesus Christ his Lord.
Earl was born in Rosewood June 20, 1922, to the late Royce Adam Walters and Gladys Richardson Walters Capps.
He was married for more than 73 years to the late Elizabeth Mitchell Walters, who preceded him in death Dec. 6, 2014.
Earl retired as a truck driver from Keebler Co. in Goldsboro after 34 years of service.
Following his retirement, Earl continued to work as a security officer at North Carolina Salvage.
He was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro, and served as an usher for many years.
Earl is survived by his children, Royce Walters and wife, Elizabeth, Dorothy Howard and husband, James, Robert Walters and wife, Jackie, and Raymond Walters; nine grandchildren, Karen Hammon and husband, Danny, Andy Walters and wife, Glenda, Kim Sullivan and husband, Hardy, Julie Edwards and husband, Tim, Roberta Ashworth and husband, Jonathon, Bobby Walters and wife, Phyllis, Leland Walters and wife, Dawn, Andrea Britt and Tommy Holder; 14 great-grandchildren, Ben Edwards, Hannah Hudson and husband, Michael, Kelley Godwin and husband, Chris, Nicholas Sullivan, Melody Vasquez, Amanda Edwards, Kirsten Edel and husband, John, Kara Walters, Veronica Williams, Grant Ashworth, Christian Walters, Michael Crumpler, Matthew Crumpler and Anna Britt; nine great-great-grandchildren, Selena Vasquez, Cole Hudson, Cash Edwards, Brysen Godwin, Lexa Hudson, Nyeli Vasquez, Gaige Edwards, Avery Loveday and Lydia Edel.
He is also survived by his sisters, Ruby Singleton, Pearline Parnell, Dollie Capps, Alice Powell and Gayle Allen; brothers, Cecil Capps, Gordon Capps and Kenneth Capps; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Anne Walters and Pat Walters; stepfather, Joseph Capps; brothers, Kermit Lee Capps and James Walters; and sister, Ruth Walters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, with his nephew, the Rev. Michael Hamm, officiating.
