Evangelist Bobbie Jean Bennett, 74, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Bobbie," 106 Fox St., Mount Olive, N.C., departed her earthly life Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Bobbie was born in Wayne County Dec. 13, 1941. She was born to the late Mr. Robert Bennett and Mrs. Lillie Wiggins-Bennett-Greenfield.
She graduated from Carver High School in the class of 1960.
Evangelist Bennett was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Vann.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at 1 p.m. in Northeast Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church, 503 E. James St., Mount Olive, N.C. Bishop J.N. Perry will officiate. Interment will follow in Carver Memorial Park Cemetery, 704 S. Breazeale Ave., Mount Olive, N.C.
Also, a public visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, in Northeast Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church, 503 E. James St., Mount Olive, N.C., from noon to 12:50 p.m.
Evangelist Bennett leaves to cherish and celebrate her memories to her two sisters, Betty Bennett and Bebra Bennett Robinson of Mount Olive, N.C.; her two brothers, Earthel Bennett and wife, Irene, of Midwest City, Okla., and Lonnie Bennett of Bear, Del.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, a goddaughter and a godson
Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 11 a.m. at the residence of Ms. Betty Lou Bennett, 106 Fox St., Mount Olive, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
