Peggy Rae Lanier Pickett, 77, Warsaw, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Hospital.
Mrs. Pickett was born June 4, 1938, in Duplin County to the late J.L. Lanier Sr. and Martha Elizabeth Lanier.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Warsaw United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.
A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw.
Mrs. Pickett is survived by husband, William Fred Pickett of the home; son, Norman Fred Pickett and mother of his children, Lisa H. Carr of Wendell; son-in-law, Michael Kent Pierce of Knightdale; grandchildren, Shannon Michelle Pickett, Bradley Thomas Pickett, Michael Kent Pierce Jr. and wife, Samantha, and Christopher Allen Pierce and wife, Aleah; and great-grandchild, Annlyn Reese Pierce.
Mrs. Pickett was preceded in death by daughter, Ann Pickett Pierce.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Warsaw United Methodist Church, 107 W. Plank Road, Warsaw, N.C., 28398.
