Mother Catherine Lanie Walls, 88, 307 Albritton St., Calypso, passed from this mortal stay Tuesday in Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1927, in Duplin County to Charlie McKinney and Sarah Frances Boykin McKinney.
Her homegoing will be mourned and celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. at Holy Temple United Holy Church. Her mortal frame will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Park.
A wealth of memories are left to her children, Gwendolyn Oates of Faison, Gloria Ann Walls of Calypso, Harvey Walls of Mount Olive and Juanita Walls Newkirk of Mount Olive; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. The family will assemble at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
