Norwood Glenn Anderson, 77 years of age, Concord, N.C., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg.
Norwood was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Wayne County to Norbert and Tempie Anderson.
The family received friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 1, 2015, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord.
The funeral service followed, and was officiated by the Rev. Brandon Bowers and the Rev. Tony Creel. Burial was Oct. 2, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro, N.C.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Anderson of Concord; N.C., an aunt, Dita Price of Seven Springs; two sons, Wendell G. Anderson and fiancée, Shelia Swann-Leigh, of Harrisburg and David R. Anderson and wife, Deborah B. Anderson, of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Shannon E. Anderson, Nicole A. Miller and husband, Eric M. Miller, and Michael J. Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Gabriel R. Anderson, Aubrey E. Miller, Brantley M. Anderson, Kinsley R. Miller and Tripp G. Colburn; seven siblings, Kenneth Anderson, Glennie Worrell and husband, Leroy, Farrell Anderson and wife, Lorainne, Aubrey Anderson and wife, Judy, Jimmy Anderson and wife, Linda, Annie May Garris, Ruth Wade and husband, Jimmy, and Tony Anderson and wife, Dianne; two sisters-in-law, Lois Grimes and Jewel Britt-Halso; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norwood was a dedicated businessman, who opened his own uniform business in 1978, Anderson Uniform Co. Inc.
He had many pleasures in life, including traveling all over the world, meeting new people and his family.
