JACQUELINE INGRAM PHILLIPS

June 8, 1926-Sept. 20, 2015

Jacqueline Ingram Phillips, 89, Goldsboro, was called home Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, to the loving arms of Jesus Christ her Lord.

Jacqueline was born in Fulton County, Ga., June 8, 1926, to the late Leonard Ingram and Maude Cain Ingram.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Benjamin Phillips, July 6, 1998.

Jacqueline was a life member, and had served as past commander and chaplain, of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 45.

She was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Jacqueline's life was filled with humility, kindness and a love for others that she displayed every time she smiled. She dedicated her life to serving her family unselfishly and to serving her Lord.

She was a member of Oak Ridge Church of God of Prophecy.

Jacqueline was always on call to give an encouraging word or helping hand. Granny, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and family, was a true Christian lady, who loved God and lived each day showing those around her what faith in action is all about. She was caring, giving, loving, and yes -- feisty.

A service celebrating Jacqueline's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Jacqueline is survived by her daughters, Starr Daughtry and husband, Travis, of Newton Grove and Gaye Mossholder of Goldsboro; son, James Michael Phillips and wife, Ethel, of Huber Heights, Ohio; sisters, Ann Cauette and Daphine Swanner; brothers, Curtis Ingram and wife, Nancy, and Trevis Ingram and wife, Pam; five grandchildren, Angela Jones, Dean Wilson and Kristi Wagner, Michael Phillips, Kristi and David Sellers and Tammy and Randy Salkill; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ingram, and two grandsons, Richard Mossholder II and Ian Phillips.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Eastern, North Carolina, 3739 National Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, N.C., 27612.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
