MAYBELLE POWELL RIVENBARK

Maybelle Powell Rivenbark, 83, died early Thursday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late David and Emma Johnson Powell, and mother of the late Mark Rivenbark.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, David Powell Jr., Alton Powell and Paul Powell.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Olive, and prior to her retirement, she operated Maybelle's Seafood and Steak House and Mount Olive Fabric and Crafts.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with Dr. Dennis Atwood officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
The family will greet friends Monday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Rivenbark; her daughter, Kimberly Rivenbark; her son, Don Tew; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Powell, Rachel Powell and Frances Powell; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
