Mrs. Rosa Williams Carlisle, 63, and lovingly known by her family and friends as "Biddy," 206 Herbert St., Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the University of North Carolina Health Care Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Rosa was born in Wayne County Aug. 12, 1951, to the late Mr. Chester Williams and Mrs. Fannie Sauls Williams.
She received her education in the public school system of Wayne County. She graduated from Dillard High School in the Class of 1968.
After graduating from high school, Rosa applied to, and was accepted at, Wilson Community College in Wilson, N.C., in the field of nursing.
During Rosa's working years, she was employed with Wayne Memorial Hospital, and retired from Cherry Hospital after more than 30 years of service.
She was an active member of Word Faith Center Church of Goldsboro, N.C., under the leadership of Bishop William Phillips.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Alvin Carlisle Sr.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 4, 2015, at 1 p.m. in Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly, 214 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, N.C. Bishop William Phillips will officiate.
Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery South, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.
A public viewing will be held Saturday, July 4, 2015, from noon to 12:50 p.m. in Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly, 214 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, N.C., with the family present at noon.
Mother Carlisle leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her son, the Rev. Alvin Carlisle Jr. and wife, Alice, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her daughter, Mrs. Alva Carlisle McGowan and husband, Marvis, of Columbus, Ohio; her mother, Mrs. Fannie Williams of Goldsboro, N.C.; her sister, Mrs. Melvalene Greenfield of Goldsboro, N.C.; her uncle, Mr. Eddie Sauls Jr. and wife, minister Shirley, of Goldsboro, N.C.; her five grandchildren; her two brothers-in-law; her five sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Saturday, July 4, 2015, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 11 a.m. at the Carlisle residence, 206 Herbert St., Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Friday, July 3, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
