Mildred Lucy Davis Tankersley, 70, formerly of Goldsboro, died Tuesday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with pastor Barry Sasser officiating.
Born in Seymour, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus J. and Mildred W. Davis, and was the wife of William "Bill" Tankersley.
She was a member of Eastern Star, and was a retired teacher from O'Berry Center.
The family will receive friends following the services.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tankersley is survived by her son, John Willis II and wife, Jennifer, of Seven Springs; a daughter, Laura Melvin and fiancé, David Stocks, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Mary Anna Davis and husband, Kenneth B., of Cleveland, Miss., and Dorothy Davis Hollingsworth and husband, James H., of Johnstown, Pa..; grandchildren, Brittany Willis, Jody Melvin, Cody Boozer, Jeremy Melvin, Jina Melvin and Savanna Willis; and two special friends, Ann Evans and Anne Stocks both of Goldsboro.
