WILLIAM CARSON 'W.C.' BRASWELL

William Carson "W.C." Braswell, 75, Smithfield, died late Thursday evening in Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield.

Born Sept. 16, 1939, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late William Jacob "Willie" and Bessie May Evans Braswell.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Braswell, and sister, Carolyn Murray Braswell.

W.C. was a member of the Moose and Elks Lodge in Goldsboro and Hephzibah Baptist Church.

W.C. loved traveling to the mountains and the beach, watching westerns and war movies and, in his younger years, he played the drums with The Flat Tops.

W.C.'s biggest passion was farming.

He worked 28 years with Automotive Wholesalers in Goldsboro as a sales representative, and later went to work at Leggett Myers Tobacco Co. as a sales representative until his health declined.

Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Drake officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service.

Burial will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Glenda Braswell of the home; daughters, Kimberly Braswell Dunn and husband, John, of Smithfield and Sharon Braswell of Arkansas; son, Greg Braswell and wife, Valerie, of Texas; and grandchildren, Justin Braswell and Jordan Braswell.
