William Otto "Bill" Britt Sr., 83, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday evening at Vidant Medical Center.
Bill was born in Sampson County Sept. 11, 1931, to William Rufus Britt and Lillian Catherine Bracher Britt.
He retired from E.I. Dupont after 39 years of service.
Bill was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
A service celebrating the life of William will be Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Wellman officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hilda Jones Britt; grandchildren, Melody Moody Swaim, Wesley Britt, Cody Britt, Lacy Allen Britt, Anastacia Sumner and Amanda Singleton; and six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Allison Jernigan of Newton Grove; half-sister, Robin O'Brien of Louisiana; and brother, Marvin E. Britt of Benson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Lacy Sheryl Britt and William O. "Bill" Britt Jr.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
