KAY D. MCCANN
March 25, 1941-April 28, 2015
Marjorie Kay Davis McCann, 74, Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.
Kay was born in Wayne County March 25, 1941, to the late Woodrow B. Davis and Philippa Best Darush. She was married to the late Adolph Jones and Arthur McCann.
Kay was a caring, loving parent and grandparent whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.
She was a member at First Free Will Baptist Church.
The family will gather for a time of visitation and remembrance Friday, May 1, 2015, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
Interment will be at a later date in Wayne Memorial Park.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Phyllis McCorkhill of Jacksonville, Elaine Moody of Seven Springs and Lora Chandra and husband, Alan, of Tulsa, Okla.; son, Edward Jones of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Margaret Stamper and husband, Tom, of Jacksonville; special cousin, David Daughtry of Garner; eight grandchildren, Janice, Eric, Cody, Jordan, Bailey, Jamie, Kayla and Markus; three great-grandchildren, Loren, Angel and Faith; and a great-great-grandchild, Dalton.
She is also survived by a niece, Hope Pope, and nephew, Gary Clanton.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834, or Liberty Home Care, 1700 Country Club Road, Jacksonville, N.C., 28546.
