James Carson Jones Sr., 69, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Columbus Regional Healthcare.
He was the son of the late Willie James Jones and Martha Connor Jones.
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, and retired with Thompson Pump Inc. for 22 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his son, Janes Carson Jones Jr. of Goldsboro, N.C.; sisters, Linda Sarvis of Whiteville, N.C., Brenda Seltzer of Texas and Glenda Millican and Wanda Singletary of Tabor City, N.C.; a brother, Richard Jones of Whiteville, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Jones of Raleigh, N.C., and Emily Rose Jones of Goldsboro, N.C.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Mortuary chapel, with the Rev. Christopher Stanley officiating, with burial following in Hammond Cemetery at Hinson Crossroads.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at McKenzie Mortuary from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
