Dora Carlisle Hare, 89, went to be with her Savior on Friday evening, Jan.16.
Her passing was sudden and unexpected.
She was born on May 2, 1925, in Greene County, to the late Walter Charles Carlisle and Minnie Lee Taylor Carlisle.
She attended elementary school in Greene County and graduated from New Hope High School in 1942.
She worked at JC Penney and later retired as a state employee from Cherry Hospital.
She attended Freedom Baptist Church in Goldsboro.
A service celebrating Dora's life will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by her three children, Ann Rogers and husband, Harry, of Fuquay-Varina, Kathy Vaspory of Winston-Salem and Rayburn Hare and wife, Donna, of Blue Springs, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. "Bill" Hare, to whom she was married for 56 years, and also by one brother and five sisters.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
