Frances Cavenaugh Ballance, 72, Aycock Acres Road, Fremont, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Interment will follow at Ballance Family Cemetery, Benton Pond Road in Fremont.
Mrs. Ballance was born in Wayne County Nov. 2, 1942, to the late Jeff and Ethel Carter Cavenaugh.
She is survived by her son, Steven Ballance and wife, Deborah, of Fremont; a daughter, Wanda Carter and husband, Joe, of Pikeville; four sisters, Rachel Aldridge of LaGrange, Faye Radford of LaGrange, Helen Radford and husband, Rodney, of Fremont and Nancy Barnes and husband, Bob, of Fremont; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, Jan. 16, 2015, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont, and other times at the residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Ray Ballance, and her brother, Glenn Cavenaugh.
The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St. in Fremont.
