Mr. Alvin Charles Harris, 87, Mount Olive, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 7 p.m. at West and Dunn Funeral Home chapel in Newton Grove, with the Rev. Tony Ward and the Rev. Cleveland Turner officiating.
The family will receive friends after the funeral service.
Interment will be Thursday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove.
Survivors are his wife, Annie Ruth Harris; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn H. and Tony Thornton of Newton Grove and Barbara H. and Ricky Barefoot of Newton Grove; grandson, Derrick L. Barefoot; brothers, Edward Harris of Goldsboro and Fred Harris of Mount Olive; and sisters, Dean Weaver of Mount Olive and Hazel Mills of Goldsboro.
He was preceded in death by a son, Linwood Earl Harris; parents, Zack and Rosa Massey Harris; sisters, Mary Harris and Helen Harris; and brother, Luther Harris.
