Elizabeth Walters, 90, Rosewood, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Annie Elizabeth Mitchell Aug. 14, 1924, in Rosewood to the late Leland and Olivia Perkins Mitchell. Mrs. Walters was the wife of Earl Walters for 731/2 years.

Elizabeth attended Rosewood School, and worked for various restaurants around Wayne County, including Central Lunch and the Southern Belle.

She retired from R.G. Barry in 1982.

A member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, she will be remembered for her love of cooking, gardening, quilting and crocheting, but most of all, for her love for others and her strong faith.

In addition to her husband, Elizabeth is survived by her children, Royce Walters and wife, Elizabeth, Dorothy Howard and husband, James, Robert Walters and wife ,Jackie, and Raymond Walters; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; aunt, Mrs. Ella Mitchell; special friend for more than 70 years, Mrs. Myrtle Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Anne Walters and Pat Walters; four sisters, Oda Mae Carter, Bessie Leidy, Becky Walton and Eleanor Rose Lynch; and a brother, Thurman Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home chapel, with a nephew, the Rev. Michael Hamm, officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and immediately following the service in the funeral home.

Interment will be Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
