GLENDA WEEKS ROWE

Glenda Weeks Rowe, 71, of Kenly went to heaven on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill due to a lingering illness.
She was loved by everyone who crossed her path.
She would tell you about Jesus if you had time to listen.
She sang in the Gospel Trio for many years, served as church secretary and served in any other capacity at the church, as needed.
She was known for her beautiful flowers and loved working in her yard.
She was one of seven children, born to Melvin Wade and Louise Thigpen Weeks.
She graduated from Mount Olive High School in 1961 and worked as the school secretary for awhile.
She lived life to the fullest.
She married and moved to Princeton in 1963, where she raised her children.
She is survived by her brothers, Melvin B. Weeks and wife, Elleze, of Goldsboro; and Willie Ray Weeks and wife, Sandra, of Grantham; four sisters, Joyce Gardner of Mount Olive; Mary Brill of Mount Olive; Annette Sutton of Goldsboro; and Mattie Thompson and husband, Richard, of Morehead City; one son, Eddie Rowe and wife, Cheryl Scott, of Princeton; three daughters, Rena Shasteen and Bobby Jones, of Kenly; Tina Sutton and husband, Arnold Sutton, of Kenly; and Debbie Rowe and Tim Todd, of Maryland; four grandsons, Ian Rowe; Gabriel Sutton; Christopher Rowe and wife, Tiffany; and Michael Rowe and wife, Jessica; three granddaughters, Zoe Rowe, Lindsey Shasteen and Heather Rowe; a great-grandson, Cayden Rowe; and a great-granddaughter, Mikaela Rowe.
She also left behind lots of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Calypso Cemetery.
Glenda (Nana) will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and crematory in Goldsboro.
