KRIS CROSBY HAM
May 5, 1964-Nov. 15, 2014
Kris Crosby Ham, 50, of Goldsboro, passed away on Nov. 15, 2014.
Kris was born in Okinawa, Japan, on May 5, 1964, to Joseph Crosby of Amesbury, Mass., and Cawanua Adcock Crosby Keeling of Raleigh.
Kris was a 1983 graduate of Southern Wayne High School.
She was formerly employed with the Wayne County Public School System.
Kris had a larger than life personality.
She loved arts and crafts and photography, celebrating birthdays and holidays, wine tasting and sitting poolside with her friends and family listening to music and talking.
Whether it was going to the beach with family and friends, exploring the Abacos or just relaxing at home with her husband doing absolutely nothing, Kris loved the life she lived.
The most important thing in Kris' life was her family.
She was the rock that kept her family grounded and the star that kept her family in orbit.
She was a phenomenal wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Most of all, she will be remembered for her compassion and care for those that could no longer take care of themselves.
Her passion for life impacted all those around her, and she will continue to live in our hearts forever.
Kris Ham was loved by many and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her parents, Joseph Crosby and Cawanua Keeling, and step-parents, Sandi Crosby and Charles Keeling; her husband of 30 years, Steve Ham; two sons, Mitchel Harrison Ham and fiancee Kailey Adams and Nicholas Bryant Ham and wife, Julie Ham; two grandchildren, Isaac and Eli, and a third grandchild on the way; sister Kathy Crosby Shelton and husband, Kem Shelton, of Goldsboro; a brother, Joseph Crosby and wife, Ronda, of Raleigh; a sister, Kyra Crosby of Haverhill, Mass.; her mother-in-law, Dot Ham, of Goldsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Scott Thrailkill officiating.
A celebration of Kris' life will also be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the B&G Grill.
Kris will lie in state on Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home for friends to come by before the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Kris to Duke Children's Hospital, Office of Development, 710 W. Main St., Durham, N.C., 27701.
