ARLENE GRANTHAM DAVIS

Arlene Grantham Davis, 81, Goldsboro, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Arlene was born in Wayne County on May 12, 1933, to the late Raymond and Lyda Sasser Grantham.
She was married to the late Lloyd Lemuel "Tunk" Davis.
Arlene taught second grade at Rosewood Elementary School for 33 years, where she impacted the lives of many students at an early age.
She loved to support her grandchildren and all the students at Rosewood by attending sporting events in the Rosewood community.
She was deeply devoted to her family and was happiest when she was spending time with her family and with her lady friends at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
A service celebrating Arlene's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Pine Forest United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vann Spivey officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Arlene is survived by her twin daughters, Trudy Hope and husband, Danny, of Goldsboro and Tracy Jones of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Amy Hope Lawhorn, Lloyd Allen Hope, Davis Patrick Jones and Summer Gray Jones; great-granddaughter Alyssa Brooks Lawhorn; and brother, Raymond Grantham, Jr. and wife, LaRue, of Lakeland, Tenn.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
