Mary Ruth Faulk Pate, 93, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born in Wayne County, N.C., Sept. 2, 1921, to the late William Henry Faulk and Sally Wood Faulk. She was married to the late Norwood Pate.
Ruth attended Victory Free Will Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Victory Free Will Baptist, with the Rev. Fred Crank officiating. Interment will follow in Silas-Pike Cemetery, Pikeville, N.C.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Victory Free Will Baptist Church and at other times, at the home of Martha Pate, 141 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Mary Newcomb and Martha Pate both of Goldsboro; son, Ollie Pate; grandsons, Justin Newcomb, Kyle Pate and Tyler Newcomb; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Hughes Pate.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, William Leslie "Bill" Pate.
